Digital File Preparation for E-Stat
Please review the following points before sending in your digital files. Preparation of the files in the proper format will insure the timely delivery of your banner and will avert unnecessary art changes. Please call our office if you have any questions regarding formatting.
- Acceptable Media: Zip, Jaz (1 or 2 GB disks), CD, Floppy 3.5".
- It is VERY IMPORTANT that you include a color printout of the layout with your disk. This will allow us to quickly identify the contents of the disk and will enable us to check for any file transfer or handling errors.
- Files created in the MacIntosh operating system using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and QuarkXPress will yield the best results. Coral Draw or Freehand files can be used only if exported as Adobe Illustrator EPS files. Other program files can be utilized, but image and color manipulation are most effective with the aforementioned applications. Please call us when sending other formats.
- Files must be saved in CMYK, EPS format. PLEASE NOTE: Desired colors need to be specified. Digital sublimation is closest to the colors of the Pantone Matching Systems utilizing UNCOATED Pantone chips when sublimating on fabrics. EXACT COLOR MATCHES ARE NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE.
- Please do not supply logos or other line-work illustrations as bitmapped art. Typographic logos and images that can be, need to be created and saved on outline formats. Logos scanned as greyscale Photoshop images at 300 dpi at _ of the final repro size is acceptable.
- Fonts need to be OUTLINED. If this is not possible, both printer and screen fonts to be included.
- Proportions of the documents must match the desired final size.
- Crop marks need to be indicated clearly for final dimensions. Artwork must allow for finishing (sleeves, grommets, etc.) without sewing through copy or images. Be certain that enough background and bleed areas are included on the final files.
- All support files must be available.
- All scanned images need to be saved at an appropriate resolution of 300 dpi for continuous tone images (35 to 75 megabytes for most.)
- All files need to be saved in editable format. Do not parse or embed files.
- Only send files needed to produce the final banner design.
- Save each layout as its own file.
- Transparencies and camera ready reflective artwork may be sent but will require art and scan charges.
